293.     The Crown and the Duchy of Cornwall.

The Crown Estate Commissioners1 have powers of leasing mines and minerals belonging to the Crown2. Subject to certain formalities, mines and minerals which form part of the private estates of the Crown may be leased as freely as by an ordinary subject3.

The Duke of Cornwall may grant a mining lease of Duchy land for any term of years4.
