Where in the case of any dwelling-house1 affected by subsidence damage2, at any time before the completion of remedial works3 or, in certain other cases4 at any time before all sums in respect of which the responsible person5 is liable to make payments have been expended (1) a notice to treat6 for the compulsory purchase of the dwelling-house under housing clearance powers7 is served in such circumstances that the compulsory purchase will be attributable to the damage; or (2) a demolition or closing order is made8 in respect of the dwelling-house under housing
