The appropriate national authority1 may by regulations2 make provision for modifying or adapting any of the provisions of the Opencast Coal Act 1958 relating to compensation in their application to land3 which immediately before the operative date4 of a compulsory rights order5, or the date of entry6 under such an order, was used as woodlands, or as woodlands of a particular description specified in the regulations7.
