As from the date of entry1, and during the period (referred to as 'the period of occupation') for which, on and after that date, a compulsory rights order has effect2, it confers upon the person entitled to the rights conferred by the order3, and upon persons authorised by that person, the like rights to occupy the land comprised in the order, and to exclude other persons from it, as if that person had acquired a freehold interest in the entirety of that land with vacant possession and free from incumbrances of any description4.
