In relation to England, the Health, Education and Social Care chamber of the First-tier Tribunal1 has jurisdiction over appeals formerly heard by the Mental Health Review Tribunal2 and deals with applications and references by and in respect of patients under the provisions of the Mental Health Act 19833. However, at any point during proceedings the Chamber President4 may allocate the matter to another chamber within the same tribunal5.
