Where, in proceedings brought in respect of a person ('P') under Part 1 of the Mental Capacity Act 20051, the Court of Protection2 is considering a question relating to P3, it may require a report4 to be made to it by the Public Guardian5 or by a Court of Protection Visitor6. The court may require a local authority7, or an NHS body8, to arrange for a report to be made: (1) by one of its officers or employees9; or (2) by such other person (other than the Public Guardian or a Court of Protection Visitor)
