Services for mentally disordered1 people consist, broadly, of: (1) services provided by the health authorities2, including hospital and specialist services3; and (2) social services provided by local social services authorities4 for people living in the community.
A public authority must act in a way that is compatible with a convention right5 as must a person who provides accommodation, together with nursing or personal care, in a care home for an individual under statutory arrangements6.
