917. Leave of absence from hospital.

The responsible clinician1 may grant any patient2 who is for the time being liable to be detained in a hospital3 under the Mental Health Act 19834 leave to be absent from the hospital subject to such conditions, if any, as he considers necessary in the interests of the patient or for the protection of other persons5.
