A patient1 who has attained the age of 16 years2 may be received into guardianship for the period allowed3 in pursuance of an application (referred to as a guardianship application) made in accordance with the Mental Health Act 19834. The patient5 may apply to the appropriate tribunal within the six months beginning with the day on which the guardianship application is accepted6.
A guardianship application may be made7 in respect of a patient on the grounds: (1) that he is suffering from mental disorder8 of a nature or degree which warrants his reception into guardianship under the Mental Health Act
