The Lord Chancellor1 may, after consultation2 and with the consent of the Treasury3, by order prescribe fees payable in respect of anything dealt with by the Court of Protection4. Such an order may in particular contain provision as to: (1) scales or rates of fees5; (2) exemptions from and reductions in fees6; (3) remission of fees in whole or in part7.
The Lord Chancellor must take such steps as are reasonably practicable to bring information about fees to the attention of persons likely to have to pay them8. Fees payable as above9 are recoverable summarily as a civil debt10.
