Any transfer direction1 given in respect of any mentally disordered2 person detained in a prison or a remand centre, not being a person serving a sentence of imprisonment3, ceases to have effect when his case is disposed of by the court having jurisdiction to try or otherwise deal with him; but without prejudice to any power of that court to make a hospital order4 or other order5 under Part 3 of the Mental Health Act 19836 in his case7.
