880.     Appeals from magistrates' courts.

Where on the trial of an information charging a person with an offence a magistrates' court1 makes a hospital order2 or guardianship order3 in respect of him without convicting him, he has the same right of appeal to the Crown Court4 against the order as if it had been made on his conviction5. On such an appeal, the Crown Court has the same powers as if the appeal had been against both conviction and sentence6.
