The Health and Care Professions Council1 may appoint registered professionals2 as registrant assessors3. Registrant assessors have the general function of giving advice to: (1) the Council4; (2) the committees of the Council5; (3) screeners6; or (4) the registrar7, on matters of professional practice arising in connection with any matter which any of those persons is considering8. The assessors also have such other functions as may be conferred on them by rules made by the Council9.
