Where an allegation is referred to case examiners1, the registrar must notify the registrant of that allegation and referral by serving a notice of referral on the registrant and carry out any investigations2. Where an allegation is referred3, the case examiners must consider, in the light of the information which the Council has been able to obtain and any representations or other observations made to it whether there is a case to answer4. Where the case examiners agree that there is a case to answer, the case examiners must either refer the case to the fitness to practise committee
