The minimum requirements for general practice training are that the training meets, or is to be treated as meeting1, certain European requirements2 and the period of training3 includes (1) a period or periods amounting to at least 12 months employment as a GP registrar under the supervision of a general practitioner who has been approved by the General Medical Council4; and (2) a period or periods amounting to at least 12 months employment5 in a post (or posts), in one or more specialties that are approved by the Council as being relevant to general practice
