The Nursing and Midwifery Council1 may make rules2 providing for the procedure by which and the circumstances in which a registrant's3 name may be removed from the register4 on his own application or after the expiry of a specified period5. Where a person's name is removed in accordance with such rules or following conditional registration6, his registration is referred to as lapsed7.
Without prejudice to any other power of the registrar to remove a registrant's name from the register because his registration has lapsed, the registrar may remove a registrant's name from the register upon application made by or on
