The General Pharmaceutical Council1 must establish an inspectorate which is to consist of inspectors appointed by the Council under the following provisions2.
An inspector appointed under these provisions has the following functions:
(1) in connection with the Council's functions to set and promote standards for the safe and effective practice of pharmacy at registered pharmacies3, to enforce such standards as are set4 made by the Council about those standards5;
(2) to assist the Council in its investigation of matters to which provisions relating to fitness to practise6 apply7;
(3) to secure compliance by registrants8 and by persons carrying on a
