The Privy Council1 may cause an inquiry to be held into any matter connected with the exercise by the Nursing and Midwifery Council2 of its functions3. Before an inquiry is begun, the Privy Council may direct that it be held in public4. Where no direction has been given, the person holding the inquiry may if he thinks fit hold it, or any part of it, in private5.
