281.     Functions of the investigation committee.

Where an allegation is made to the General Medical Council1 against a fully registered person2, or a person who is provisionally registered3, that his fitness to practise is impaired4, then the registrar and thereafter the case examiners5 must investigate the allegation and decide whether it should be considered by a Medical Practitioners Tribunal6.
