The following provisions apply where an allegation against a registrant is referred1 to the fitness to practise committee2.
If the fitness to practise committee finds that a registered optometrist's or registered dispensing optician's fitness to practise is impaired3, that a business registrant's4 fitness to carry on business as an optometrist or a dispensing optician or both is impaired, or that a student registrant's5 fitness to undertake training is impaired, it may if it thinks fit direct that6:
