An exception from being a 'regulated activity' for the purposes of the Health and Social Care Act 20081 is the provision of first aid by: (1) health care professionals2 where it is provided in unexpected or potentially dangerous situations requiring immediate action; (2) organisations established for that purpose; or (3) non-health care professionals trained to deliver such treatment3.
