Pursuant to its powers to establish effective arrangements to protect the public from persons whose fitness to practise is impaired1, the Health and Care Professions Council1 agreed to set up a fitness to practise adjudication service, known as the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS) in July 2016. The service became operational on 28 April 2017. Cases are referred to it through three of the practice committees2.
