It is the duty of the appropriate national authority1 to enforce or to secure the enforcement of the provisions of the Medicines Act 1968 and any regulations and orders made under it2. The General Pharmaceutical Council3 is under a duty, concurrently with the appropriate national authority, to enforce the provisions of the Act which relate to the unlawful use of titles, descriptions or emblems4, in their application to England and Wales5.
