Having considered an appeal, the Nursing and Midwifery Council1 may: (1) dismiss the appeal2; (2) allow the appeal and quash the decision appealed against or in the case where an alert about a person is sent3, direct that the alert be withdrawn or amended4; (3) substitute for the decision appealed against any other decision that the registrar5 could have made6; (4) with respect to an appeal where the registrar or Council fails to make a decision in relation to a European professional card within the time limit7, enter any decision which could have been taken by the Council8; or
