There are four statutory committees1 of the Health and Care Professions Council2 known as the education and training committee3, the investigating committee4, the conduct and competence committee5, and the health committee6. Each of the statutory committees has the functions conferred on it7. The Council may establish such other committees as it considers appropriate in connection with the discharge of its functions8, and may, in particular, establish professional advisory committees whose function is to advise the Council and its statutory committees, whether on the request of the Council or otherwise, on matters affecting any relevant profession
