273. Appointment of inspectors.

For the purpose of securing the maintenance of the prescribed standard of proficiency1 required from candidates at qualifying examinations2, the General Medical Council3 may appoint such number of inspectors as it may determine to attend, as it directs, all or any of the qualifying examinations held by any body or combination of bodies included in the list maintained4 by the Council5. In addition, any person deputed for that purpose by the Council may attend any examination held in the United Kingdom6 which has to be gone through in order to obtain a primary United Kingdom qualification or additional qualification
