The Nursing and Midwifery Council1 must appoint legal assessors2. Legal assessors have the general function of giving advice to the practice committees4, the registrar5 or the Council6, on questions of law arising in connection with any matter which any of those persons is considering7. They have such other functions as may be conferred on them by rules made by the Council8. The Privy Council9 may make provision by order with regard to the functions of legal assessors and, in particular, provision may be made: (1) requiring legal assessors when advising the Council or any of its committees to do
