Upon receipt of an application for the restoration of a name to the register1, where the application rises from a previous direction, the registrar2 must refer the matter to the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS)3 for them to arrange for it to be considered by a medical practitioners tribunal4, and the registrar may make such investigations, and obtain such information, documents or reports as he considers appropriate5, direct the applicant to undergo an assessment of his performance or health
