Except where the Nursing and Midwifery Council1 considers an appeal itself2, an appeal must be considered by an appeal panel3 appointed by the Council for that purpose4. An appeal panel must comprise not fewer than three persons selected with due regard to the matter under consideration and must include: (1) a person who is registered5 in the same part of the register6 in respect of an appellant7 who is, or is applying to be, registered as a nurse or midwife, or who is, or is applying to be, registered or the nurses' or nursing associates' parts of the register
