Alternative requirements as to experience may be applied in the case of a person claiming registration as a medical practitioner1 who claims registration by virtue of a qualification2 granted before 1 January 19533, or who is the holder of a primary United Kingdom qualification4 and also of a qualification granted outside the United Kingdom5 which is recognised by the General Medical Council6 for this purpose as furnishing a sufficient guarantee of the possession of knowledge and skill corresponding with the prescribed knowledge and skill7.
