1124. Succession to demoted tenancy in England.

As from a day to be appointed, the following provisions have effect1.

If the tenant2 under a demoted tenancy3 of a dwelling house4 in England5 dies6, and where there is a person qualified to succeed the tenant7, the tenancy vests8 either in that person9, or (if there is more than one such person) in such one of them as may be agreed between them (or as may, where there is no agreement, be selected by the landlord)10.

Where a periodic demoted tenancy vests in a person qualified to succeed the tenant11, and it continues to be a demoted tenancy12:
