In the case of a lease executed or coming into operation after 31 December 1925, a notice to quit may be served in the manner provided by the Law of Property Act 1925, 1unless a contrary intention appears2.
The provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1927 that relate to the service of notices3 apply for the purposes of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (including, among other matters, the service of notices terminating tenancies protected under that Act)4.
