884. Statutory periodic tenancy.

Part I of the Housing Act 19881 provides that, where a fixed term assured tenancy2 expires, the tenant may be able to continue to reside under a statutory periodic tenancy. Thus, if an assured tenancy which is a fixed term tenancy comes to an end otherwise than by virtue of:

(1)     the landlord obtaining an order of the court for possession of the dwelling house3 under the Housing Act 1988, 4and obtaining the execution of the order5;

(2)     the landlord obtaining6 a demotion order7; or

(3)     any other order of the court8;
