If, on or before the date on which a tenancy1 is entered into, or is deemed to have been granted by virtue of the Housing Act 1988, 2the person who is to be the tenant3 under that tenancy:
(1) enters into an obligation to do any act which will otherwise4 cause the tenancy to come to an end at a time when it is an assured tenancy5; or
(2) executes, signs or gives any surrender, notice to quit or other document which otherwise6 has the effect of bringing the tenancy to an end at a time when it is
