In the case of restricted contracts1 entered into on or after 28 November 19802 the operation of a notice to quit cannot be deferred either automatically or by direction of a rent tribunal3. Instead, in the case of any dwelling house4 which is the subject of such a restricted contract, the court may, on the making of an order for possession of such a dwelling house or at any time before the execution of such an order, stay or suspend execution of the order or postpone the date of possession for such period or periods as it thinks fit
