The Housing and Regeneration Act 2008 contains transitional provisions to deal with the situation which might previously occur in respect of an 'original tenancy' (defined for these purposes as any secure tenancy1, assured tenancy2, introductory tenancy3, or demoted tenancy4, in respect of which a possession order5 was made before 20 May 20096, and which ended before that date7 pursuant to the possession order, but not on the execution of that order)8.
