736. Registration areas.

Except so far as different provision is made by an order constituting new local government areas etc1, the registration areas in England for the purposes of the statutory provisions relating to registration of rents under regulated tenancies2 are counties and county boroughs, London boroughs and the City of London3. The City of London is deemed to include the Inner Temple and the Middle Temple4.

Wales is a registration area5, as are the Isles of Scilly6; and the Council of the Isles of Scilly is the local authority for the latter registration area7.
