The rent assessment committee1 to which a matter is referred2 may by notice in the prescribed form3 served on the landlord or the tenant4 require him to give to the committee, within such period of not less than 14 days from the service of the notice as may be specified in the notice, such further information5 as it may reasonably require6. If any person fails without reasonable cause to comply with any such notice served on him, he is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale7.
