A qualifying tenant1 of a flat2 may not participate in the giving of a relevant notice of claim3 if the notice is given more than four months after a landlord's4 notice terminating the tenant's lease5 of the flat has been given under the Landlord and Tenant Act 19546 or served under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, 7whether or not the notice has effect to terminate the lease8.
