766. Payment for giving up possession.

A statutory tenant1 of a dwelling house who, as a condition of giving up possession of the dwelling house, asks for or receives the payment of any sum, or the giving of any other consideration, by any person other than the landlord2 is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale3.
