Where, by virtue of the provisions of the Reserve and Auxiliary Forces (Protection of Civil Interests) Act 1951 that protect servicemen's tenancies1, the operation in relation to any premises of the Housing Act 1988 provisions that govern assured tenancies2 is extended or modified, the extension or modification does not affect:
(1) any tenancy3 of those premises other than the statutory periodic tenancy4 which is deemed to arise or, as the case may be, the tenancy which is for any period deemed to be an assured tenancy by virtue of any of those provisions
