A tenant1 under an assured shorthold tenancy2 to which the statutory presumption applies3 may, by notice in writing, require the landlord4 under that tenancy to provide him with a written statement of any term of the tenancy5 which6:
(1) falls within heads (a) to (d) below7; and
(2) is not evidenced in writing8.
The following are the terms of a tenancy referred to in head (1) above:
(a) the date on which the tenancy began (or, if it is a statutory periodic tenancy9, or an assured tenancy arising by succession, where, immediately before the death of the predecessor, the landlord
