Any jurisdiction conferred on a leasehold valuation tribunal by or under any enactment is exercisable by a rent assessment committee for an area in Wales1 duly constituted in accordance with the Rent Act 19772. When so constituted for exercising any such jurisdiction, a rent assessment committee is known as a 'leasehold valuation tribunal'3. At the date at which this volume states the law, rent assessment committees, residential property tribunals and leasehold valuation tribunals are brought together under one umbrella service, known as the Residential Property Tribunal Service4.
