1142. Ground 2A: domestic violence.

The court may, provided that it considers it reasonable to do so1, make an order2 for the possession of a dwelling house3 let under a secure tenancy4, where the dwelling house was occupied, whether alone or with others, by a married couple, a couple who are civil partners of each other, or a couple living together as if they were a married couple or civil partners5, and:


    (1)     one or both of the partners is a tenant6 of the dwelling house7;


    (2)     one partner has left because of violence or threats of violence by the other either towards that
