The Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 provides that, in certain circumstances, a tenant1 has the right:
(1) to request a summary of insurance cover2;
(2) to request to inspect the insurance policy3;
(3) to notify insurers of possible claims4; and
(4) to challenge a landlord's choice of insurers5.
The rights conferred under heads (1) to (4) above6 apply in relation to Crown land7, as in relation to other land8; but they do not apply to a tenant of a local authority9, of a National Park authority10, or of a new town corporation
