475. Former landlord may be released from covenants on assignment of reversion.



    (1)     a landlord1 assigns the reversion2 in premises of which he is the landlord under a tenancy3 (whether or not he is landlord of the whole of the premises comprised in the tenancy4); and


    (2)     immediately before the assignment5, a former landlord of the premises remains bound by a landlord covenant6 of the tenancy ('the relevant covenant')7,

then, regardless of whether or not the former landlord has previously applied8 to be released from the relevant covenant9:
