921. Fixed term tenancies.

The court1 may not make an order for possession of a dwelling house2 to take effect at a time when it is let3 on an assured fixed term tenancy4 unless:

(1)     the ground for possession is one of those specified5 for the purpose6; and

(2)     the terms of the tenancy make provision7 for it to be brought to an end on the ground in question8.

The court may9, however, make an order for possession of a dwelling house on grounds relating to a fixed term tenancy which has come to an end; and, where an order is made in such circumstances, any
