Where the purchase of any furniture1 is required as a condition of the grant, renewal, continuance or assignment of a protected tenancy2 or of rights under a restricted contract3 which relates to premises4 for which a rent is registered, then, if the price exceeds the reasonable price of the furniture, the excess is to be treated5 as if it were a premium required to be paid as a condition of the grant, renewal, continuance or assignment of the protected tenancy or, as the case may be, the rights under the restricted contract6.
