In relation to 'excluded assignments'1, the release from covenants and the apportionment of liability2 operates as follows3:
(1) the tenant's automatic release from the tenant covenants of the tenancy4 does not have effect in relation to the tenant5 as from that assignment6, but has that effect as from the next assignment (if any) of the premises assigned by him which is not an excluded assignment7;
(2) the landlord's or former landlord's right to apply for release from the landlord covenants of the tenancy8, or from the relevant covenant9, does not enable the landlord or former landlord10 to apply for
