Where no rent for a dwelling house is registered1 and any rates2 in respect of it are, or were during the last contractual period3, borne by the landlord or a superior landlord, then, for any statutory period4 for which the amount of the rates5 differs from the amount of the rates for the last contractual period, the recoverable rent6 is increased or decreased by the amount of the difference7.
Where the amount of the recoverable rent is so increased, the increase does not take effect except in pursuance of a notice of increase
